This is our CV style 2-Piece 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Driveshaft. This shaft mimics the previous generation of the Tacoma that came with a double cardan CV behind the carrier bearing. When Dana Spicer took over the Tacoma driveshafts in 2005 the CV design was abandoned for single u-joints. The CV style 2-piece is the most accomadating for lifted Tacoma trucks. It helps to eliminate angle related vibrations with ease!
So, here it is: this shaft maintains the 1330 series u-joints for the transfercase and pinion flanges, and has a 1310 sereis CV head behind the carrier bearing. Although the CV head uses 1310 u-joints (one size smaller than 1330) the load is shared between two u-joints in that location. This makes it incredibly strong; we have yet to see a Tacoma be able to break one.
